Only six months until the spring migration starts again in a big way!

Nature episode is back :)

Taken around the west part of the Meon Valley.

I was going to correct the lay of the land to a ruling of horizontal line on skylines but it is as it was so I thought I would leave well alone.

Tree, reborn, it does bloom

It does fill, sweet natures room

With its glory and its green

Oh, such beauty, it is seen

In the fields, under the skies

It brings beauty to my eyes

That looked at it and fell in love

With the sweetness, sent from above

What a bright November sunday morning! The sun fights against wafts of mist and seems to win for today.

Abendspaziergang mit Sonnenuntergang, hach könnte es doch jeden Tag so schön sein....

Aber nö, das würde ja langweilig ;-)

Lyall's Larch (Alpine Larch) is a treeline species in Banff National Park, where it comes to the northern limit of its range. A deciduous conifer, it forms cones like a spruce or fir tree but its needles turn yellow in the fall, before dropping off. They add a spectacular burst of colour to high mountain slopes and passes for a couple weeks each September. I made this shot from the Icefields Parkway, but the gold is more intense up close, when viewed through fewer atmospheric layers.

This concludes my Rockies set of images; tomorrow, a return to the prairie and its critters.
